Designer Charles Dort is an alumnus of several prestigious art schools, both in the United States and abroad. His formal art education culminated in a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Printmaking from The Yale School of Art.
Travels in Europe and North Africa, in addition to working in the New York City interior design industry, have contributed to a unique aesthetic sensibility, rooted in a deep understanding and appreciation of the history of the fine and decorative arts. Drusus Tabor believes in the ineffable beauty and grace of hand-made things. In today’s digitised, mechanised world, true luxury resides in those things made in real time, by a real person, using real materials.
Drusus Tabor are inspired by their heroes: The Bloomsbury Group, The Omega Workshops, Barron and Larcher, Peggy Angus, Enid Marx, The Folly Cove Designers, The Tillets, and Vera Neumann.
