A large C18th creamware staffordshire tankard with handcoloured transfer pastoral scenes. This gorgeous tankard has been on hard times. The phrase 'mending a broken balloon' springs to mind when attempting to describe its damage and subsequent repairs. The whopping chip out of its base needs to be seen to be believed. We'll always have a soft spot for the lives and resurrections of this special english pottery. It still sits proudly with it's happy crooked smile.
