The paper in question looked at a model that could accurately replicate the line of a pencil through computer graphics. Part of the model involved exploring how much graphite would be removed by drawing a line given the fact that different types of pencil contain varying amounts of graphite, wax and composite. Applying this logic to a range of pencil grades from 8H to 8B, I reached an answer, which is shown in the scaled lines etched into the pencil nip from soft on the left to hard on the right.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEssentially, if you're using an 8H pencil, you could be walking a very long line.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSpecification Width 105mm x Height 48mm.
