The beautiful pink and green and gold shopfront on Rugby Street is dazzling every passer-by. But now we need a new shop manager to come and look after it!
I was entranced recently by these photographs of Shrewsbury in 1888.
Bridie and I have of course done our bit to turn back the clock of beautiful store facades with our new reverse painted gilded glass sign.
But if you have a penchant for wearing a long apron and filling our windows with beautiful things (gosh those Victorians knew a thing or two about Visual Merchandising, as it is now known), and would like to keep a freshly scrubbed step and everything looking perfectly prim and proper, well….we’d love to hear from you.
Brilliant Sarah, who made such a difference to the shop, has sadly moved to an exciting new job in Paris (we’re only slightly jealous) and we are recruiting. Applications for the new shop manager position close at the end of next week (Friday 19th September) and if you think you’ve got what it takes to become a part of team P&H, please get in touch by emailing Bridie – shop@pentreath-hall.com. Or do pass on this blog if you think you know the perfect person.
The shop is also looking for a internet packing elf which is significantly more fun than it sounds. You must be an obsessively neat wrapper although Bridie will train you if you are not sure about your neatness or your obsessiveness. You get an invitation to our fabulous Christmas party just for starters… and you may just get a free brown shop coat on us.
And these days, unlike in 1888, you’re allowed to smile!
Looking forward to hearing from you. Ben & Bridie.
