A collection of two temple jars, a ginger jar and a high shouldered vase. Modelled from four fine Chinese examples. Over the course of 2024, Bridie took multiple trips to our pottery in Stoke-on-Trent and stood alongside the lathe at the elbow of our master craftsman Andrew as he shaped big blocks of plaster into the classic designs we see today. The turning process took a lot of time and a lot of skill, particularly with the Temple jars that had four separate components, the lid making up three of them. Once the proportions were right, (Ben was regularly updated with images via text and would quickly send us feedback as the lathe spun!) and we agreed on the final arrangement, the plasters were cast into moulds from which the resulting creamware came through, slip cast using our favourite creamy Cornish clay.
