A collection of eleven turnpins of differing sizes.

Some made from lignum vitae and some from other hardwoods.
Each beautifully made with concentric circles to the bases and with beautiful figuring to the timber.
These are now wonderful sculptural objects.
English mid to late 19th Century
Largest 16.5cm/
6.5" high.
Smallest 4cm/1.5" high.

Plumbers’ turnpins; were tools used for opening up the end of a lead pipe in preparation for making a wiped joint.

Priced and selling as a collection of 11 pieces.
