The turquoise glass bell shaped body has a pressed tin collar with a trio of peacock head chain hooks.
Retaining its original glass lid with chains attached.
Anglo Indian circa 1880.
These glass lamps are known in India as Hundis or Handis were originally made in Europe and exported to India as lighting for large homes and palaces in the 19th century. Candles or oil lamps were placed inside the glass bell and the glass lid prevented soot from marking the ceiling.
