Inspired by an afternoon sketching the magnificent architectural details at the John Soane Museum in London, Parvum Opus founder Erika Stefanutti has designed a chic wall bracket that is at once classical and modern. She's partnered with two wonderful and expert craftsmen to build these pieces by hand in Detroit.
The Meander pattern, also known as a Greek Key or Fret, is quite ancient. Fascinatingly, along with ancient Greece and Rome, variations appeared in Chinese, Mayan and Aztec cultures centuries before European contact. The term meander recalls both the twisting path of the Maeander River in Turkey, and the linear representation of a labyrinth from Greek mythology.
Details:
· Designed by Erika Stefanutti, built in Detroit by Robert Senn & Jason Stevenson
· Handmade from wood painted in a subtle linen white.
· Large: 15cm/6" wide, 20cm/8" tall, 15cm/6" deep, with two inset keyholes for hanging.
