Windmill on Downs by Eric Ravilious

Ravilious is often fascinated by the working landscape. The shapes perfectly portray those of The Downs; the sky over the English Channel in the background a hovering compliment to the shadows and undulations of the fields in the foreground. 1935. Watercolour and pencil.
