We’re getting very excited about the exhibition of new works by Ed Kluz next week! Ed has kindly sent me a few photographs showing him at work in the Studio recently, and of several of the drawings, collages and other works that are on their way to London this weekend. I thought you might enjoy a sneak preview. Quite aside from the drawings, I’m not sure I’ve seen such a beautiful corner of a room in a while. Can you get over how nice Ed’s bright red Caramite chair (by Vico Magistretti) is? Looks familiar? – you’ll find the same ones in blue at my friend Valentina’s house in Tuscany.
Anyway, back to the subject in hand. Bridie and I are just very happy to be presenting Ed’s exhibition – it’s been such fun collaborating already, on the printed invitations, and on the letterpress poster being made by Pat at nomad press, limited edition copies of which will be for sale in the shop during the show.
Our friends over at St. Jude’s have very kindly agreed to create a window of fabrics and furniture to coincide with the show, and bolts of Ed’s designs that they have printed have been arriving with us all morning. Over the weekend I’m glad to say I am escaping (sorry) but the theatre-worker-bees will be hard at work creating a splendid display with which to greet us all on Tuesday morning.
We look forward to seeing you at the Private View on Wednesday 9th. Thoughts of balmy May evenings on the street are rather fading fast, but let’s keep our fingers sort of crossed? And if you are unable to come next week, please be sure to visit this wonderful show while it is on the walls and shelves at Rugby Street. We’ll post more photos when installed and place the works on the website for sale as soon as we can.
Ben & Bridie.
