Yesterday afternoon I was having a look at a couple of beautiful cookbooks I found at Bridport Old Books on Saturday. They prompted me to think how nice 1940s and 50s cookbooks are, with their covers by Bawden or Faber & Faber typesetting (although maybe you can spot Rose’s Aga Recipes, which is a stalwart of the Utility Room?).
Which led me in turn to think how much I like all typefaces in the kitchen. I quite like making sure I keep sugar in the sugar jar, currants in the currant jar, and flour in the flour bin. Although to be honest my bread prefers to live in the freezer.
I guess we can tell from the spines of my cookbooks that I learnt to cook with Delia!
