For those of you that have followed this blog for a while, you may have guessed that I’m quite partial to pale pink. I’m thinking of my sitting room, which I wrote about here, or the magnolia tree outside St. Mary-le-Strand, here.
So you can imagine how happy I was, on my way to a meeting on Grosvenor Street, Mayfair, yesterday, to see a beautiful pink telephone box, with a red door. My favourite combination of colours (as the sharp-eyed will notice, perfectly matching my pink and red Palermo duvet cover from Olatz, which you can spy if you scroll a little way down here).
Sadly, it wasn’t to last. As you will have guessed, the pink paint was an undercoat and the guy in the hoodie was the decorator. I think he was a bit perplexed as to why I was taking a photo or two. An hour later, my meeting was finished, and the phone box was red.
Nice to see it being looked after, and smart in its fresh coat of paint. But I was glad to have passed by when I did!
