Have you noticed the mornings getting lighter, and the evenings longer? No? Well, I think they are. It’s subtle, but signs that spring is on its way are here at last. I think they are bit more noticeable in the country than the city. I was in the Cotswolds yesterday at a house and saw a huge carpet of celandines about to flower under a stand of beech trees. I’m afraid I didn’t have my camera, but it did make me happy.
With thoughts of spring in mind I decided to repaint my sitting room this weekend. It’s now pink… Farrow & Ball ‘Pink Ground’ to be precise.
Okay, it’s a bit like living inside a marshmallow and I am not entirely sure what I think about my new pink room. Still, it’s very good for the season. I think that is the pleasure of paint. It’s easy to change and in this instance a good way to create a new spring in your step.
The sharp eyed amongst you will notice a Joseph Frank covered Bloomsbury Library Chair in the corner of the room. Another good way to cheer oneself up.
