The air of excitement and anticipation that builds during November is one of my favourite things when it all starts heating up. At the shop, the final deliveries of stock have been received as we prepare for Christmas. We're weeks away from the big day now, gosh it's rapidly approaching, and we are confident that we're well-prepared to cater to our every customer's Christmas need in our very own P&H way, well, we'll soon find out either way!
A few of you will remember the years when we would become very seasonal indeed and stock all manner of Christmas stocking filler toys, crackers, gadgets and baubles. We loved them as much as everyone until we realised the remaining unsold stock would go back into storage and eventually end up crushed at the back of our tiny storeroom - too sad an ending for too many happy things. Nowadays, there's no point buying your Christmas baubles from anywhere other than Choosing Keeping and we're remaining focused on what we're good at which isn't constantly changing with the seasons and deathless new ranges of what's called 'newness' in the business, its called 'tomorrow's landfill' in my mind.
We'll continue to provide the good stuff; perfect gifts and good things for the home. Gifts so lovely it will hurt handing them over and tableware so beautiful - (we've heard that even our tea towels are only ever allowed for display and not use, pity as they are excellent for drying up).
We are very proud of the three P&H Christmas Gift Boxes that we have compiled this year, each of which sum up our classic and distinct style and are designed to make life a little easier for the generous-yet-time-poor gift-givers among us. More details on the Christmas Gift Boxes to follow below.
We're looking forward to our Christmas Street Extravaganza being held this Saturday 4th December. I mistakenly quoted the 1st Dec in last month's newsletter, apologies for this, it is indeed the 4th.
Please keep safe and make these next few weeks an enjoyable time for yourself and your loved ones. I wish you a Merry Christmas.

POP-UP SHOPS
We're delighted to see the year out by sharing our pop-up shop with two social enterprises very close to our hearts. After a particularly tough year and a half, it is our pleasure to be welcoming back:
Community Clothing - Tuesday 30th of Nov – Saturday 11th December
Fine Cell Work – Tuesday 14th – Friday 24th December
Community Clothing is a social enterprise with a simple goal; to sell great quality affordable clothing, and by doing so create important jobs and help restore economic prosperity in some of the UK’s most deprived areas.
Every garment that bears its name is made from the highest quality sustainable natural materials. Every garment is made here in the UK in one of their 28 partner factories, all meeting the highest ethical standards. Their clothing is designed for perfect everyday utility and every piece is designed to last.
Fine Cell Work is a charity and social enterprise which enables prisoners to build fulfilling and crime-free lives. They do this by training inmates in high-quality, skilled, creative needlework that is undertaken in the long hours spent in their cells to foster hope, discipline and self-esteem. Their aim is to allow prisioners to finish their sentences with work skills, money earned and saved, and the self-belief to not re-offend.
